Boho Vibes: Summer/Fall Daily Outfits
If you have been around the blog for a while, you may have noticed a recurring favorite type of outfit and that is outfits that have a bit of a bohemian vibe. I wore a week of bohemian maxi skirts end of winter/early spring (here) and today, I am sharing some summery outfits that can work through the early fall months. Each of them incorporate a detail or two that I feel give the outfits a boho vibe. I hope these inspire you if you like these types of outfits that are not 100% bohemian, but do give you a bit of that feeling. Flowy sleeves with tassels Purse with…

Black and White Lintico Top: Inspired by Jacqui
When I visited Jodie, she gave me this linen top that had been sent to her in the wrong color way. She knew that I wore black near my face so I would bet many wears from it. I first wore it simply paired with a pair of denim shorts, but I wanted to replicate one of Jacqui’s outfits (here), so I paired it also with my white linen pants. The blouse has a boxy fit with slits on the side and is great on warm days because it fits loose on the body. The little layered look in front makes the top visually interesting. I appreciate the little slit…

How to Create an Interesting Outfit: Dress 2 Ways
One of the things I thrifted in Arizona this summer was this Universal Thread dress from Target. While I haven’t shopped in store for clothes at Target in a while, every so often I come across something while thrifting that catches my attention. The first thing that drew my eye to this dress was the print followed by the feel of the fabric which is a cotton blend. It quickly made it into my cart to try on. The dress if not fitted by any means which has been something I enjoyed this summer and the print muted enough to feel springy, summery or autumnal. It would also work with…

With that in mind, I decided to share some things I would like to do and enjoy in the next 3 months. go hiking several times visit a winery go apple picking have several fire pit nights a month go on a monthly date night plan a few movie nights with snacks with the boys enjoy our anniversary trip enjoy our…

Fall Ready: Cargo Pants and Baby Tee
When the weather cools off in early fall, I am usually ready for it. It is much more enjoyable for my morning coffee on my porch and the school pick up walk is more pleasant. I also enjoy wearing my fall layers and pants/jeans after many months of shorts and loose dresses and pants. You will see me wearing my fitted and wrap dresses more as well as my blouses/tee that are less flowy and pulling out all of the pants that were too hot for summer. Today’s outfit combines two pieces I found while thrifting in Arizona. Of course, I did not need another pair of cargo olive pants,…

Creative Layers: Playing Dress Up in my Closet
Well, 4 days after I posted this, I am writing a narrative to my pictures. I usually schedule my posts and either upload my pictures and write my post right away or I write it later. The problem with that is that if life happens and I do not proofread my blog posts, I do not realize that I didn’t write anything. It came to my attention (thanks, Jodie) that I had just posted pictures. Today’s outfit was an experiment in being creative with layers. I wanted to see what I could do with my tulle overlay (which is see through) and how I could wear it with this button…

A Pop of Color with the Ageless Style Link Up
One of the things that help me keep a feeling of normalcy these days and help distract me from stress is getting dressed each day. I have been thrifting about once a week, but since I really have no holes in my closet, I either come home empty handed or with one or two items. It is good for me though, since the recent pieces I have been thrifting have been more original than basic, so I have to get creative. Today’s Ageless theme was a pop of color and I knew right away I would wear these pants Jodie gave me this summer. It’s finally cooled off enough (well,…

Bohemian Dress Overlay: 4 Ways
One of my favorite places to shop when visiting Jodie in Arizona is a friend’s boutique in Surprise, AZ. I have mentioned the boutique many times on the blog because the items I come home with are usually unique and I wear them many times in a variety of ways. Today, I am sharing this green dress overlay that came with a light dress layer, but can be separated. Even though the fit of the under layer was too large for me (I have to wear a tank or Halftee under, I loved the color more than the other two it was offered in. So I brought it home and…

Date Night Looks
Well, after half the year without planning any date nights, I finally made it happen. We went out to dinner twice! While my husband and I do spend time together without the kids, whether driving to church, Home Depot or on errands, and we hang out watching TV or reading together, we hadn’t taken the time to dress up and go out this year. I do so enjoy dressing up and am looking forward to an anniversary trip next month. We are making up for lost time. Dinner in Town I love how my outfit turned out, but this was the third pair of pants I tried! This cutie outfit…
